Introduction
By Will Dahlgren

Hello folks, just joined this list. My name is Will Dahlgren (WillWiz@aol.com). For the past 5 years I have worked entirely in the MIDI to player piano area. I have developed a MIDI interface for the old Pianocorder, the MC-1. I also designed something called the WIMP. It is a MIDI to "power" unit that can operate up to 64 devices. By power, I mean solenoids, valves, etc. - anything up to 24 volts and 2 amps or so. (If anyone is interested, both these items are being manufactured by Bob Baker at Electric Orchestras (708) 367-7996.) Bob Baker is currently building me a 43 note air callopie using the WIMP interface.

The area that keeps my company, Piano Automation, busy these days is working with QRS Music Rolls on their Pianomation MIDI system. This system is a MIDI interface kit that drives solenoids - much like the Yahama Disklavier. This kit is sold to QRS trained piano technicians for installation in their customer's pianos.

Hope this intro doesn't sound too much like a sales pitch. I look forward to reading this group's discussions.

Will Dahlgren
