Brian Chester Returns from "Down Under"
 By Brian Chesters

 | Hello all,
Well I am happy to read that my trip down under produced its first result which was Dennis Condons intro. (yes, he HAS got 8000 rolls). I loved his keyless red Welte.

When I got back I went to check on my own Keyless and its now working and reproducing. The restorer is now doing the final adjustments to the Welte so I should have it for Springtime.

Whilst in Australia, I also saw an Aeolian orchestrelle, various disc boxes and a tour of Mastertouch rolls. BTW, they do a long roll of three tunes by Eric Satie on 88 note. including the two tunes that every one knows.

I said to Bea Robertson that I would let all know of the many auctions of automatic music here in the UK. Well early in March there is an auction at Sothebys and I understand there is a large 22 inch Polyphon upright on a bin with bells. Also a very nice art nouveau Stella 17 inch table model with 21 mint discs and a nice 11inch Rococco cased table symphonion. I have put the date in my diary to attend (London)

Next week there is a 15 inch table Polyphon in a local auction for me to look at, But it sounds rough.

By the way, I had 21 Digests to read on my return.
