 Hey, thanks for the positive thoughts.  Yes, we are excited about the big ole Gulbransen, too.  We still think it sounds good, and I checked out that crack a little better.  It doesn't go all the way through. Can something like that be welded?  I realize that it would require a lot of work, and wouldn't be worth it now, but if I put a lot into restoring this old beast and then it cracked through it would be worth some effort then.  Yes, I noticed that the sound from the baby grand wasn't as nice as I had expected.
 
 I just received a catalog from the "Player Piano co." in KS.  Neat stuff. I was glad to see so much Gulbransen stuff, including a complete kit for $300.  I need to find out what all that included, but it sounds like a good way to go.  And yes, I already bought Art's book.
