Welding Cast Iron
By George Bovard

Hi. I'm the one that asked about welding the harp. No, its not doing anything unpleasant. I just noticed the crack (which doesn't go all the way through). I was curious, before I sink a lot of money into the player action, if this sucker cracked is it fixable? I have heard of folks throwing away pianos for cracked harps and sound boards, and wondered why. Now I suspect there wasn't much else good about them, and old pianos are cheap. Thanks for the info!
