Soloelle Rolls
By Michael Swanson

I just picked up a number of QRS Soloelle rolls. Upon inspection of one of these rolls, it was noticed that they have expression coding on the edges. It looks like Recordo expression but a check of several reference books do not list Soloelle rolls as a Recordo format. In fact Soloelle rolls are not even mentioned in any of these books. The classical rolls are played by some big name artists so it seems that these rolls are probably from one of the main reproducing roll companies masters. To my amazement, these rolls would play on my Ampico with rather limited expression. Does anyone know any details about these rolls and what expression system they were designed for?

Regards
Michael
