Concerning transcription from recordings:

I guess I would approach the job by ear if the only available copy of the work is a recording. I would think you may be able to find a Sousa score published in book form to allow direct transcription. Of course the recording may have a few refinements not found in the score that you can capture by ear....Just a thought. Happy day!
