Digitizing Music-Box-Disks
By Gerard Arkenbout

Dear Jody,

In a simple way my collague (master in mechanics) copies existing and damaged metal disks for his copied Chordephon No 60. At first the disk is copied on yellow colloured light sensitive paper (DIACO: used for copying large drawings). In bright sunlight the metal disk is put on that paper with a glass sheet on it, to hold flat paper. After be exposed the paper will be developed. The paper will be placed for it in a can covered with a blanket. In that can some ammonia is placed on a warm object to get ammonia vapour to develope the paper by waging that vapour under the blanket.

The result of that practice is given in the attached file "corddisk.gif", Later on the metal new disk will be punched according the paper pattern.

Best regards, Gerard Arkenbout
