Re: Dutch Street Organ "De Prinsenstad"
By Michael Woolf

Philip Jamison asks about a Dutch street organ called "De Prinsenstad"
exported to New Zealand in the 1960s. My research can't confirm this.
New Zealand is not rich in these organs and I've only been able to
locate the following information: An organ once located in a skating
rink had three carved figures, and one mounted on a truck was a 72-key.
Both of these were destroyed in the 1970s, the first by fire and the
other in an auto accident.( The circumstances gave rise to some
speculation as both organs were owned by the same person . .) A museum
in Auckland has a Wellerhaus 52-keyless, a private collector has one
that arrived here last year and the only other I can locate is a 61-key
Bruder that has been here for many years. Perhaps Philip is thinking of
an organ located in New Zealand's West Island - or, as some call it,
"Australia?"

Best wishes to all
