Quality of Modern Rolls

What does this mean, please ? Made from a previous production roll rather than a master ? After 1930 a lot of QRS rolls have missing notes anyway.

I know at least one of QRS's re-issues has been made from a production roll sent to Gordon Iles of Artona Music Rolls in England as part of a 1960s licensing agreement.
