Value of Music Rolls
By Robert Perry

Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is a way to tell exactly _which_
rolls are rare, and which aren't. I recently bought some rolls from a
shop which brought them of the family of a lady that worked for a piano
roll shop or company.

The ones I was wondering about are an Aeolian 88 Note, 'Teddy Trombone,
Rag One Step' (Fillmore), and two Artempo rolls, which are the worst-made
rolls I have ever come across. 'The Rotary March', played by Lester
Albertson, is so badly punched as to be almost unplayable, and the 'Acme
March', played by the composer, ripped and tore really badly on the third
play.

The two Artempo rolls had never been played, and were rolled very
strangely on the spool. If they are rare please tell me so I can chuck
them in the fireproof vault.

Also, does anyone out there own any 'Reliance' rolls? They were a New
Zealand company but that's all I know about them.

Regards,
Robert Perry
