| This is to announce that I have become a corresponding member of the
Nederlandse Pianola Vereniging (N.P.V.).
In the Netherlands not many pianos or player pianos have been produced,
so they had to be imported, resulting in a broad spread of makes and
types to be used during the years.
This led to an even broader spread of knowledge, which amongst other
sources is cumulated in the NPV, a society which is active in saving,
restoring and promoting the mechanical musical instrument, especially
the player pianola.
Since within the MMD a lot of player-piano fans are active, I thought
it might be a good idea to start a correspondence service between both
organisations.
So from now on it's at hand. I will send you, every now and then, some
translations of articles from the NPV-quarterly magazine. I will also be
glad to act as intermediary for MMD-members if they do need information
and so on.
On the other hand, I hope you agree with my intention to use the
MMD-info, if appropriate, to inform the members of the NPV?
[ Please ask the MMD author for his permission to re-publish an article.
[ Jody and I are happy to help you contact the authors for this
 [ fine purpose. :) -- Robbie
And yes, a rather "difficult" point: being unemployed, it's a problem
for me to pay for all that I would like to pay for. My income does not
afford much. But I would not like to miss my daily portion of the
MMD-digest. Can you live with me, as a subscriber-without-paying-for-
the-subscription. Let's say: a corresponding subscriber?

[ We're happy that you can help with MMD and NPV correspondence in
[ the Netherlands, Jan. That is payment enough! :) -- Robbie
