| Hi members, My friend, the music box builder, has a new item
to build: a "Guitarophone".
He had seen an example dated as the Menzenhauer Guitar Zither nr 2 1/2,
patented 29th May 1894. Menzenhauer by Oscar Schmidt American Guitar
Zither. The notation: U.S. Company Oscar Schmidt patented nbr's
147,341 and 147,342.
He wants to know more about this guitar. A zither built into this
guitar, he will buy today in Delft (The Netherlands). But the
playing-mechanism is not known to him; he has to build his own.
Who can help him with a drawing, picture or something else?
On behalf of my friend, Piet Leemans from Leiden,
Gerard Arkenbout from Leidschendam (Holland)

[ Gerard helped with the player mechanism, I believe. They built
[ a beautiful pair of disc-operated player zithers which can be
[ synchronized for greater volume, or operated separately.
