New Music for Reproducing Pianos
By Sam Harris

I was wondering if anyone is arranging rolls for reproducers? I know
there are a few talented arrangers out there like George and Andy who
do great work with 88-note rolls, but I was wondering why someone is
not working on reproducing rolls?

Will the Tonnesen machine handle reproducing rolls? I'm almost sure it
will copy them but can the "computerized" aspect of the machine handle
the encoding found in the reproducing rolls? Well I suppose it will
because the rolls are the same width it's just that the last few notes
on each side are dedicated to the encoding rather than note playing.
Maybe I have answered one of my questions.

Seems to me like with all the debate over the Ampico A rolls
incompatibility with the B machines, and the past thread about which
system has more rolls available the Ampico or the Duo-Art, someone
would be doing some arranging for these formats.

Just a thought, and you guys are some of the only people with the
answers. I love this!
