Jody, Thank you for my subscription and the attached list of articles.
I have not found the time to read all the information you send to me.
How I found you? I'm member of the French AAIME and, in No. 22 of the
AAIME Bulletin, I found an article about Internet and your mailing
list. So I write to you.
Two years ago, I attended a one-week training course, which title was:
"How to build a grind-organ". This course is every year in July
organized. Some months later, I had the pleasure to play the first
music-carton. It's not a very difficult work, but an accurate one.
I try also to make the perforated cartons and construct therefore a
manual punchcard operator.
I hope other members of your group have built their organ.
Please, excuse my bad English.
Sincerely,
Jean Potteck
[ A big "Welcome" to you, Monsieur Jean ! Yes, some of our organ-
[ grinder members have built their own instruments, and I recall a
[ discussion about drawings and kits of parts which may be purchased.
[ I hope that we learn more of this. Will you someday please write
[ to tell us about the training course which you attended; this
[ would be very interesting. Your English writing is just fine, but
[ if you wish assistance with technical writing, may I recommend our
[ friend Philippe Rouille of Paris; his e-mail address is in his big
[ "Musica Mecanica Agenda" article, below. Best Wishes! -- Robbie
