'Alexander's Ragtime Band' and 'Titanic'
By Michael Woolf

Gary Rasmussen asks when 'Alexander's Ragtime Band' was composed.
Irving Berlin wrote the words and music and it was published by Ted
Snyder Co. Inc. in 1911, so would have been very popular in 1912.

And while on the Titanic, so to speak, did others also see the remains
of the grand piano in the wreck footage? I understand it is the real
thing. And among the Oscar winners is phonograph collector Mark Ulano
of California. Mark was Sound Mixer on the film and spoke briefly on
Oscar night.
