Subject: documentary Welte-Mignon and mechanical music

I'm the author of the film, "Selbst spielt das Klavier -- Welte-Mignon
und die mechanische Musik". The first screening is on June 28th at
German Television SWF, third program. The film deals with the history
of Welte and the development of mechanical music originally written on
paper rolls, including the works of Conlon Nancarrow. If more
information is desired, please email me.

 [
[ MMDer Juergen Hocker participated in the production of this film,
[ helping with the Welte information and the Nancarrow portions.
[ I've requested more information from the author. Can someone
[ tell us which TV satellite service might broadcast this program
[ for viewers in the Americas? In Australia? -- Robbie

Subject: Re: Documentary Film About Welte-Mignon

Dear Mister Rhodes, thanks for your interest. ... Next week I shall
write a press release about my film and I'll send it also to you.

The main interview partners in the film are Herr Dr. Juergen Hocker,
Herr Hans-W. Schmitz and Herr Gerhard Dangel-Reese, whom you surely
are well acquainted with.

My name is Oliver Becker; I've worked for years in the area of
television documentaries about music. Besides the film about Welte
I've produced a portrait of Scriabin, and I plan a film about
Prokofieff for September.

Best regards from Berlin,

Oliver Becker
