I would like to know more about the push-up Simplex. I just went to
quote on a "Melville Clark Apollonette" push-up player. It too had a
spring wind just like the later player pianos from Apollo, but it had
a hand crank to wind the spring every so often. I have not found any
literature on it in the Encyclopedia or anywhere else, yet. Does
anyone have one of these? I suspect the valves are like the Popsicle
stick pillow pouches like the 1906 inner player versions.
Is the Simplex made from anything like the later screw-on pneumatic
units, or is it too early?
