Important Robbery in Les Gets Museum, France
By Philippe Rouillé

An important robbery occurred in the "Musee de la Musique Mecanique des
Gets" (Savoie, France, ca. 50 km east of Geneva) during the night of
June 5th to 6th, 1998. About 30 pieces were stolen, representing a
total value certainly exceeding 100.000 US$. (I learned about it only
yesterday as I was away from France these last weeks).

The robbery was accomplished by "professional" people, probably on
order, but it is possible that some pieces will appear on the market.

As soon as I receive from the museum a complete listing, I shall
publish it. You may have a look at some of the stolen pieces on the
following site:

    http://www.stella-galaxy.com/vol/

For any additional information, you may e-mail at:

    musee@stella-galaxy.com

Or call the following numbers (do not dial the (0) if calling from
outside France):

    +33 (0)4 50 79 85 75 (Museum)
    +33 (0)4 50 79 74 06 (Les Gets city hall)
or fax to +33 (0)4 50 79 85 67

We hope this will help to recover the stolen pieces.

Best regards,

Philippe Rouille (Paris, France)
