Children and Mechanical Music
By Michael Woolf

In April I visited Southern California with my grandson Joshua
(aged ten). We divided our time between his activities (Disneyland,
Knotts, Universal, etc. etc.) and mine.

Included in my part was a day spent in the generous company of Mike
Ames who gave me his time and much useful advice on my current
Wurlitzer Theater Organ restoration project. And while there I enjoyed
the company and the collection.

Joshua was handed a cable TV remote and also enjoyed his day. However
he joined me in enjoying Mike's collection -- especially the mighty
Mortier. He still talks about it. Isn't it great to be able to share
appreciation of these beautiful things?
