Hello Larry: I have used "Wind" almost ever since it came out for
editing of Tempola music rolls. It may very well be that Richard is
providing me with a slightly different program than what comes with
your PowerRoll device.

I have been also playing with "View" from Wayne Stahnke (after having
to learn DOS -- Yikes!) I have imported some web files into wind, set
it on MIDI out, and the files will play my Pianomation unit perfectly.
I immensely enjoy these too!

The Ampico simulator is a very important part of my "Wind" program.
I intend to issue my first Ampico rolls soon. To do this I am
completely rebuilding a Foster Ampico, feeling that to fully understand
coding for Ampico rolls, it is a must to understand how the system
works and see some examples.

My goal is to simply make good original arrangements (mostly mine) and
constantly provide and improve my rolls. To do that, I have built this
piano to play from just about any music medium out there. I can also
play Disklavier and PianoDisc files. I am a music student, and study
and enjoy all types of music.

I am fully aware that Wayne does not want his roll scans converted into
straight MIDI, nor do I have any intentions of doing so, no more than
I want my music used to promote any product without proper credits to
Tempola Music Rolls LTD. I certainly don't understand why I shouldn't
use the files available and my programs for my personal enjoyment and
education, providing that I do not convey, convert, or modify any of
the programs or to make unauthorized copies. To do so would put my
very roll making efforts at peril. Any person who has asked me about
the programs I used, I have always directed them to the source.

In addition I have just about all the QRS MIDI files on this PC.
I like to study them (maybe I'll be a great arranger someday).

I certainly endorsed both Richard and Wayne to many people for their
efforts. I have also endorsed the PowerRoll in the chat room, often
being the topic of discussion.

Now you guys have something really great here, I wasn't aware to
exclusions or restrictions, nor was I trying to shortchange anyone.
Personally, I own both a Pianomation unit and I also plan on fitting
the Ampico Foster with the powerful unit once it is finished. The
fact was is that the person had a non-player piano, and although it's
possible, only a handful of people could construct an Ampico system
from scratch, so I thought a Pianomation would be the most affordable
system for his piano. As far as supplying the medium to play this
piano, that is up to you guys.

I endorse products that I think are good, reasonable, and will further
the cause of piano music, including PowerRoll. Those that are a bad
buy (RAM comes to mind), I am just as honest about that, too.

I hope this clears up the confusion.

Best Regards
