New Wurlitzer 165 CDs Now Available
By Marc Elbasani

Dear MMDians, In college you have to take care of your priorities, so
the second I found I didn't have any tonight, I made the call to John
Malone to confirm the conditions under which the CD was to be
distributed. We came to an agreement and so I can finally tell you all
to send your checks to:

   Marc Elbasani
   1476 Euclid Ave.
   Berkeley, CA 94708

Be sure to make your check of $12.00 payable to "Marc Elbasani". Now's
where the fun starts -- I have received 20 requests, but if I do not
receive 20 checks, I will return them all and will make another attempt
a few weeks/months later. To all those who wish to purchase a CD
overseas, the total cost will amount to $14.00, postage included.

Now for an issue I wish I didn't have to bring up. I know that we
band-organ buddies like to send each other tapes of this, that and the
other. But if people make cassette copies of this CD and send them all
over the place, there won't be much of a demand for the CDs. And if
there's no demand for the CDs, there really isn't much point in making
any more of them.

My attempt at keeping rates down is done partly in the hopes that
people won't feel they need to make copies for their friends since the
CDs themselves are so cheap to purchase Be sure to let me know what you
think of the recording style. It would be easiest to email me through
my main address, 'kushpo@vdn.com'.

Oh, just saw Matt Caulfield's post on the MMD. Thanks dude :) I'm all
touched 'n' stuff. I understand the desire to hear the rags and I will
respond to this by making the next album one that contains some of the
more modern tunes like those that Matt mentioned.

But let's not forget that when I record the 165 master rolls, the
machine clogs up FAST, so the only roll I could record right the first
time (I don't have much time when I go down there, so I have to do it
fast and efficiently) was roll #6501, given to me by Mr. Caulfield as
a bonus to the B.A.B. transcriptions I bought from him.

If this CD sells well enough to get the Malones slightly interested,
I will then make the next album a collection of ragtime pieces. When
the time comes for the next recording, I'll need some opinions on which
rolls to go for. That's when *you* get to make the call (of course,
majority rules). MMDians, the CD is ready.

Warmest regards,
Marc Elbasani
