By John Roache, forwarded

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

[ John Roache operates a well-respected web site featuring lots
[ of good Ragtime music on MIDI files which you can down-load.
 [ -- Robbie

Dear Ragtime Fan, It's been a few months since anything new has been
added to The Ragtime MIDI Library because every spare moment of my time
has been consumed with the production of my second CD, "Hot Kumquats
and Other Frosty Treats".

Well, the CD is finished and now I can get back to posting some more
MIDI files on the web page. So here's what's new at the Ragtime MIDI
Library. Links to all these newly updated areas can be found on my
"What's New Page" --

[ For 15 years I appeared annually in concert with Robin Frost; he
[ holds my highest admiration as a composer! :) The new CD is
[ described in a related press release dated October 13, 1998.
[ Some extracts follow below. -- Robbie

John Roache Releases New Compact Disc
"Hot Kumquats and other Frosty Treats"
MIDI Renderings of Previously Unpublished Robin Frost Compositions

Frost's one-of-a-kind compositions are modern-day apparitions suggestive
of the pianistic giants of the 'twenties and 'thirties. Although Frost
is always clearly Frost, one can hear in his work the living spirits of
the great ragmasters, stridemasters and swingmasters.

Alex Hassan, novelty pianist and recording artist, recently had the
following to say about composer Robin Frost and John Roache:

"As a performer, collector, researcher, periodic recording solo
pianist and fanatic devotee (for some 25 years) of 20s-30s two-fisted
popular playing styles, let me state unequivocally: 'Robin Frost is
the finest composer of stride/post-ragtime/novelty -- most any
syncopated solo piano idiom -- since the Golden Age.'

"With a brilliant piano technique of his own, advanced compositional
training (to supplement natural talents), a melodic gift that won't
quit, wit and imagination, this 'font' of rhythm and snappy tunes, at
a very youthful 68, to this day continues to delight and amaze his ever-
growing fan club with a seemingly (and fortunately) never-ending stream
of memorable solos."
