Battleship Musical Box
By Larry Greenfield

This is a late box, as you say, and nothing to be ashamed of; I suspect
that the battleship may have been by special request of the music box
purchaser.

Musical box makers often made up special cylinders with certain tunes
to please a particular buyer, or ethnic group. In 88-note player piano
rolls, rolls were made for many different ethnic groups. So, why not
a special lid for someone who liked battleships.

If you want to search for the type of ship, perhaps go to the library
where they may be a book about old battleships. Perhaps the ship will
be seen there.
