Repairing Antique Piano Stool
By Dale Houser

Hello all, This question may be a bit on the far edge of the main
interest of this group, but it is related to antique player piano
repair, albeit maybe loosely.

I just acquired an old four-legged piano stool with a claw and glass
ball on the bottom of each of the legs. The stool is one in which the
round top rotates to adjust the height.

The problem is that the long metal 'nut' that is in the center of the
stool is broken and I cannot adjust the stool height. I have a part
of the broken piece. It comes out of the stool, so if I can get a
replacement, I think the stool will be easy to repair.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can purchase a
replacement 'nut' or has any suggestions on how I might be able to
restore the stool to operating condition? I'd like to keep it as
original as possible.

Thanks for any help.
