Wurlitzer 155 "Monster" in Burlington CO
By Ron Bopp

Mary Jo and I attended a conference in Colorado this last week and drove
out Highway 70 from Oklahoma. I had never had chance to personally
view an intact Wurlitzer 155 (Monster) Band Organ, although I used
quite a bit of information on the one in Burlington based on material
I had received from Art Reblitz for my book, "The American Carousel
Organ".

We pulled into Burlington, CO, around 4:00 PM. There were signs
everywhere leading you to the carousel in the park. Once we came
to the carousel building we could hear the Monster playing.

The carousel is quite beautiful and nicely restored, as is the organ.
It really sounded quite well and gave us an idea of what this organ
might have sounded like when made. I guess I thought it was going to
be considerably bigger than it was, however; maybe that was my mental
image based on its name. But, it was large enough and I would
recommend that any MMDer on Highway 70 stop by and see it and the
carousel. There is no charge for looking and listening!
