Reuge Music Box in Smithsonian Catalog
By Bob Ricco

I recently saw a Reuge music box in the Smithsonian catalog. It is
shaped like a piano with an inlaid case. The movement has
interchangeable discs, several of which are included. There is storage
for the rest in the bottom of the case. The box is priced at $1295.
The questions for the group are: Are these boxes of good quality?, Are
they worth the asking price?

I purchased a Reuge box with interchangeable cylinders from the
Smithsonian catalog some years back and was happy with it but I am not
sure of the disc mechanism and its tone quality.

Thanks and regards,

Bob Ricco
