Home Player Repairs
By Damon Atchison

When evaluating a player for a friend of mine, the man selling the
piano told me that he had drilled a little hole in it. He pointed
above the keys and said "there it is-- well, you can't see it, but it's
behind there" He had drilled into the stack (which he told me "there
ain't nothin' in there it's jus' an empty box") and hooked up his air
compressor, only to discover it ran off of vacuum!! I told him that
there were valves in that "empty box" and many small and fragile parts,
but he then got upset and insisted that nothing was wrong with the
piano.
