Hofbauer Player Accordion
By Gary Blair, forwarded

-- forwarded message, please reply to sender and MMD --

Hi Folks. After I finished my gig on Tuesday night, a guy asked me
to have a look at his accordion and give him a comment on it. This
'Accordion' looked like a cross between a Hohner Pokerwork (in design)
but with buttons on the side a la a Bandoneon.

You have to insert a cartridge which then plays the tune for you, as
long as you pull and push the bellows. A very clever novelty indeed.
I think it is of German origin and has the following written on it:

  Orgelbau Meister Hofbauer Seit 1923.

Anyone any info on this beast?

Regards, Gary Blair (Scotland)
