FS: White Bros. Mammoth Gavioli Organ
By Andrew Oram

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

I would like to bring to your attention that the forementioned White
Brothers Mammoth Gavioli Organ is for sale. It was built in 1908
by Gavioli and was originally 112-keyless. It was restored in the late
1950's and is now a 98-key. There were only eight of this type of
large fairground organ made and this is one of two remaining. It is
also the largest of the eight. It is in immaculate condition with many
of the original parts still intact.

If you think that any of your members would be interested in this
item, I would appreciate it if they would contact me via e-mail at
<aoram1@hotmail.com>. The manner in which the sale will be conducted
has not yet been decided. If any further information is required,
please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

A D Oram BSc, MSc.

[ This organ was a featured attraction at the KDV 45th anniversary
[ festival held at the open air museum in Arnhem, Netherlands,
[ June 1999. It's enormous, and loud! Jeremy Brice wrote in
[ MMD 990411 that it is still owned by the White family but is
[ maintained and operated by the Show Organ Society of UK. -- Robbie
