Dealing With W. W. Grainger
By Ray Fairfield

Bob Conant asked for suggestions on how to deal with Grainger's.

Last week I needed a capacitor for my furnace motor, so I looked up and
found the exact part that I needed in the Grainger catalog. I called
up the local store here in San Jose, CA, and told 'em I wanted to buy
it on the GE account (I used to work for GE Nuclear, and they have an
account at Grainger's), pay for it with my personal credit card and
have it mailed to the house.

Bingo. Believe it or not, I ordered the capacitor at 3 PM Thursday,
and it arrived in the next day's mail. For this to work, of course,
you need to know a company that has an account with them.
