Aeolian Orchestrelle in Australia
By Glenn Amer

Greetings! I am very happy as I have just exchanged one of my
Humber Super Snipes (1955 Mk 4 - the big one!) for a lovely Aeolian
Orchestrelle with a number of rolls. I am delighted with it, especially
as it is working!

When playing the organ manually, bottom e cyphers -- I can't get it to
stop! When I pull the 'pneumatic to manual' knob to play the organ with
rolls, the cypher simply goes away. Any ideas? Am I missing something
basic?

Are there any reprints of documentation pertaining to this instrument
(instructions, advertisements)? Does anyone have any originals or
reprints they might wish to sell, or exchange for some of my Mastertouch
recordings?

The handwritten label (in pencil) inside the organ states that it was
made in 1901. Which model does this date make it? I am new to
Orchestrelles and any help would be greatly appreciated!

The only problem we had with its delivery was that we had to remove half
of the back doorjambs to get it in the house!

That "Eolian" stop really does look like 'golian', too! (I wonder why
they left the 'a' off 'aeolian'?)

Thanks most sincerely,

Glenn Amer
