Non-Original Instruments at eBay Auction
By Jim Canavan

These kinds of things are on eBay constantly: look under "phonographs"
and on any given day there are dozens of what we phono collectors refer
to as "crap-o-phones" -- fake outside-horn phonographs, patched
together in India.

Some sellers are honest, and say that they are selling a reproduction
(and likewise price them at between $75-180). Others, though, claim
they are selling originals, and price them $500 and up.

I have gotten some incredible stuff at great prices on eBay, but as Don
said, let the buyer beware!
