Insurance for Mechanical Musical Instruments
By John McClure

During a quiet moment over the holidays past, the question of adequate
insurance for my ever growing collection came up. My insurance agent
wants written appraisal on each item.

Who is qualified to issue this? My collection contains everything from
a Steinway Duo-Art and Reproduco to miniature bird boxes and some of
everything in between -- the usual Edisons, Victors, disc and cylinder
boxes, and literally a thousand rolls. Any past experiences good or bad
would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, John McClure
