Gluing Leather Valve Facing
By Hans van Oost

[ Barry Dennis asked, "So, if you have to glue the shiny side,
[ what glue do you folks recommend?"

Gluing the skin side of leather with hot hide glue should not be
a problem. It is true that this glue will hold less well than on
the "flesh" side, but it is holding well enough for its purpose.
Keep the glue hot and runny! I have never seen a loose valve facing
glued this way, so don't worry.

Hans van Oost (always using hot hide glue)
