Technically Dead!
By Harald Mueller

> Can anyone tell me why I'm still here??

Another simple explanation is that you and your wife are just "strong"
enough to not get hurt. We have 230V/50Hz over here in Europe; I have
been in that once (with hand -> feet, i.e. the heart was "more or less"
in the line), and the "only" thing that happened was that my arm
started hurting about an hour later and would do so for 2 or 3 days.

I also had a friend who had a naturally high electrical resistance.
He really could hold a 230V live wire and did not feel much (he showed
it to us); he said it had mostly to do with a medical problem with his
skin.

So, there are (fortunately) a few more ways to survive, even 230V.
115V would probably increase the chance by a factor of 3 or 4, but
_please_ don't count on that!
