Coin Piano on "Cheers" TV Show
By Andrew Barrett

Hello all, I was wondering whether anyone knows who made the coin
piano visible in the background of early episodes of the TV show
"Cheers", and where it is today. In later episodes it is replaced
with a new one made by Ragtime Automated Music in Ceres, CA.

None of the episodes I have seen have ever shown either one of these
playing (though in 3 or 4 episodes, it is played by hand by a pianist,
such as during Diane's wedding in the bar). One wonders why it is in
the bar at all if it is never played.

Thanks,

Andrew Barrett
