New Machine Makes 20-Note Roller Organ Cobs
By Brian Walter

Hello All, After only just reading the MMD, I thought it was about
time to contribute something. I attended my first MBSI Annual meeting
in Chicago this September and was overwhelmed by all the mechanical
music. My humble collections contains many organettes along with
music boxes and phonographs.

The testimonial here is for the workshop given by Walter, Jessie
and Charlie Moore of Dallas Texas. It was an outstanding hands-on
demonstration of their new 20-note cob pinning machine. It was truly
a marvel of the 21 century. Whereas it could take more than 6 hours
to pin a cob manually, their laptop computer-driven machine can do it
in about 6 minutes.

They have produced over 40 new cobs and are adding more every day.
All the songs are new or new renditions of old cob music, so as not
to take away from the collectability of the original cob songs. My
favorites include "The Yellow Rose of Texas", "Frosty the Snowman" and
"Zippity Doo Dah", among others. If anyone is interested in a listing
please write and mention the MMD.

Thanks all for bearing with me.
