Time Resolution of Mechanical Music Media
By Tom Jansen

Dear Robbie, I just checked on my roll reader camera and realized
that the actual chosen resolution (0.12 mm) is about 2540 rows per
foot! So the statement "Recut media are generally inferior quality
unless copied with great care" is not always true. ;-)

Best regards,
Tom Jansen

[ Here's an analogy: Copy photographs, made with a high-resolution
[ camera which is out-of-focus, are inferior (fuzzy). Thus great
[ care is needed when copying photos also. ;-) Let's discuss
[ how the quality of a recut music roll can be measured with respect
[ to the original music roll. -- Robbie
