Cleaning Metal Organ Pipes
By Paul Morris

Hi folks, does anyone have any tips about cleaning tin and
lead/tin organ pipes? As a chemist I should know, and indeed have
several ideas, but there is nothing like a tried and tested remedy.

The pipes in question have a white, dull, tenacious layer which is
probably oxide, hydroxide and carbonate. Any suggestions from
people who have successfully cleaned such pipes would be welcomed.
Best wishes, and thank you.

Paul Morris
