Price of Cremona Model J Sold At Auction
By Mark Forer

Holy Toledo.
If I were a rich man!

Cheers,
Mark Forer

http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2233136712

[ I'm sorry that this didn't get published in time for Digest readers
[ to see this in the Digest first. We don't usually spend a lot of
[ time on eBay items anyway, but I wanted to take the opportunity to
[ quote the description and the bid history, as I think its valuable
[ to track what's happening with prices at auctions.

Quoting from Bid Description:

Fabulous Cremona Model J Orchestral Nickelodeon with beautifully
restored jewel-tone leaded, stained and beveled glass front. Inside is
a full 7 1/2 octave piano, mandolin, flute pipes, violin pipes, bass
drum, snare drum, triangle, xylophone and tympani. The Cremona is said
to be rarer and with more instrumentation than the king of orchestrions,
the Seeburg G. This machine is original and has been completely and
professionally restored and is sure to play and entertain for many,
many years to come.

[ The seller estimated the selling priced would be $10-$20k. This
[ item went from $7k starting bid to $10K when the final "live" bidding
[ started. During the 1 minute of live bidding, the price went to $37K.
[ Is this a good price or a high price for this item ? --Jody
