Reverting to Pedals for a Player Piano
By Craig Smith

I wonder if there is a properly operating check valve in the electric
vacuum pump in Claudine's player piano. If not, it could be sucking
air back through the pump and making it necessary to pump much harder
than necessary.

Secondly, if a speed control is needed for the motor, Harbor Freight
has a controller for routers that sells for about $13 and it works fine
on a vacuum cleaner.
