FS: "Flight of the Bumble Bee & Bumble Boogie"
By Douglas Henderson

Hello MMD readers, While we have been doing our best to maintain a
'ten year inventory' for Artcraft Rolls, based on over 20 years of
sales demand estimates, we actually ran out of a specific Duo-Art title
last September: Flight of the Bumble Bee/Bumble Boogie, arranged for
the expression player. (A production run on this roll began in 1999
and continued until the supply was exhausted!)

The master was rushed to Play-Rite in California for November 2003
duplicating. This turned out to be June 2004 perforating for that
roll and a host of other titles needed to bring our stock up to
this pre-determined level. Both Malones telephoned me today for
instructions about shipping the Bumble Bee copies, which are needed
pronto.

We are issuing this popular Duo-Art arrangement as an 88-Note
Themodist edition with the soft pedal perforation used by the Duo-Art,
Artrio-Angelus and select editions of the Pianola Piano and Angelus
pedal players. As with their Voltem and Metro-Art 88-Note rolls of
the past, these can be used on standard instruments with the pianolist
"reading" the soft pedal perforations if he/she desires, squeezing
_both_ treble and bass controls together for the desired keyboard effect.
(Ordinarily, one uses the treble or bass soft pedal singly for a 'solo'
melody.) The automatic sustaining pedal will be identical on both
editions, naturally.

Flight of the Bumble Bee/Bumble Boogie and several other 'reproducing'
rolls in our library are being duplicated for the Duo-Art on
a continuing basis, but we have signed up for two production runs
as a limited trial for the 88-Note format. We have found that almost
one-half of the customers are playing this particular title on a
standard player, in many cases taping over the Duo-Art expression (or
using an 80 key action), so it seemed natural to offer, for a short
period of time, this 2-title roll for the regular player instrument.

Prices for all our rolls date from 1996, and will be changing soon
when the new arrangements are released, here in the storage building,
already. We are honoring the backorders, at the old rates.

If you are interested in our Bumble Bee roll for the 88-Note format,
drop us a line. We'll send you an e-mail notification when it's ready,
and features a 2004 price, along with the rest of our existing stock.

Regards,
