FS: Melville Clark Apollo 5-in-1 Player Piano
By Mark Reinhart

For Sale: Unusual mahogany Melville Clark Apollo upright. The player
is the rare "5 in 1" that plays 88-, 65- and 58-note rolls and also
the 15-inch width Apollo Concert rolls.

What makes this piano especially rare is that it has expression units
and tracker scale to play Solo Apollo rolls, which are also 15 inches
wide. I had one of these years ago and it did not have the Solo Apollo
ability; this one does.

The tracker bar has a row of holes at 6-to-the-inch up top for
everything up to the Apollo Concert rolls. The lower 9-to-the-inch
row also runs 15 inches wide, for the Solo Apollo. The player is pedal
operated with spring wound roll drive. There is a lever you slide to
activate the expression. Another lever is moved to activate the
appropriate ports.

This piano appears to be complete, unrestored, and never touched.
There is both a wooden door and glass door to cover the roll mechanism.
It's missing a few ivories, the piano shop selling it can supply
replacements. They are asking $200; call quickly if you are remotely
interested because this one is taking space and they want it gone!

I have no financial interest in the sale of this piano. It's just
rare and it would be a crime to see it scrapped or gutted. Contact
