Steam Calliope Owned by L. S. Burr
By David Dewey

Gordon, I'm not certain, but is this the one that Hal Wilmunder
had? I don't know where it is now, since Hal fell off his steamboat
[the "Elizabeth Louise"] and drowned last year. I also remember
a calliope on the tender of McCloud's 25 back in 1970; I think it
came from the S.F. Bay Area.

I've always wanted to build one; I even have plans from the Live Steam
Magazine and a bunch of brass tubing set aside. Someday... (Meantime,
there's an AcoustiGrande with a Welte player waiting to be rebuilt for
the living room -- as soon as I finish the living room!)

Steamcerely,
David Dewey
