Tribute to Wayne Stahnke
By Don Cox

I would like to second Bob Billings' tribute from a different point of
view. Some years ago I bought Wayne's two CDs of Rachmaninoff [Ampico]
rolls, and they have been listened to many times. In my opinion they
make other recordings made from reproducing rolls sound like robots
playing the piano (which of course they are, really). The Pierian CDs
are the next best, but still just that little bit "sticky".

I have been very disappointed that no more CDs from Wayne's system
have been issued. He is a brilliant engineer.

Regards
