Tilted Player Piano Bench is a Prayer Table
By Maggie Richardson

Shortly after I got my player piano, I discovered the "tilted bench"
at a friends home and found how much easier it made the pumping.
Eventually, I found my own treasured bench at a local swap meet and
praised my luck.

A few months later I came across another one at an antique store. It
was sitting on a small, very fancy rug and had a Bible placed on the
slanted seat. When I inquired of the arrangement, I was informed
(in a tone that implied I should know) that it was a very old prayer
table. One never knows upon what one is sitting.
