Musical Christmas Tree Stand Plays Too Fast
By Manfred Koehler

-- non-subscriber, please reply to sender and MMD --

I have an old revolving Christmas tree stand that I am seeking
information regarding. The music box has a 51-tooth comb and
a clutch mechanism that moves the barrel so that there appear to
be four tunes playing, although two tunes are "Silent Night" and
the other two are not recognizable, although they may be "Oh,
Du Froehliche".

The music plays much too fast when fully wound and the "O" ring is
quite stretched. Any information you can give me would be greatly
appreciated; please examine the attached picture. Identifying
information on the spring mechanism reads "J C Eckardt, Stuttgart
and DRGM".

Thank you!
Manfred G. Koehler
