Rebuilding Otto Higel Player Action
By Joel Gauthier

Hello again MMD, Hopefully I will be beginning the restoration
of my Otto Higel player system soon. I'm wondering if anyone can
tell me what parts are 'must-replaces' that every rebuild needs.

I have a few 'key-bellows' that stay closed, so I assume they will
need new springs, but should I replace them all while I'm at it?
Also, how many different grades of cloth and leather am I going to
need? I can see about 3 or 4 bellow cloths that are different,
but leather, I have no idea yet (as I have not opened it up yet).
Then there's leather nuts, control rod bushings and felt, do these
all have to be replaced?

I don't want to do a full restore, as it is already in very good
condition, and I prefer that it looks all original (for now).
I would just like to get it running again, as efficiently as
possible.

As far as suppliers go, I'll assume most people buy from
'www.stevespianoservice.com', but can anyone tell me if there is a
better or Canadian supplier? I can supply any pictures as requested.

Thanks,
Joel Gauthier
