Organ Rally 7-9 July 2006 St. Joseph, Missouri
By Gregory Filardo

Mark your calendars -- Regional Heart of America Chapter of AMICA
invites one and all to visit St. Joseph, Missouri, July 7-9, 2006,
and "Come Home to Old St. Joe." Step back in time to a city that time
forgot on the Missouri River! See some of the finest 19th century
architecture set amongst the hills of the Missouri river just 40 miles
north of Kansas City.

On Friday, band organs and monkey organs will play at selected spots
around the city. On Saturday smaller mechanical music items will
gather at the park next to the Patee House (1858) Hotel (where the Pony
Express left), now a museum with an outstanding collection of Americana
including the steam engine that was one of the ones present at the
driving of the golden spike in 1869. The Pony Express stables are
a block away and famous outlaw "Jessie James" home where he was shot
is around the corner.

Dinner will follow at a historic site and the on to the magnificently
restored Missouri Theatre (movie palace) where we will see a live play
"The Music Man". As we leave the theatre that evening, the sound of
music under the stars will greet us in the nearby park with an old
fashioned beer garden and band organ.

Sunday will feature tours of collections and historic places and an
air show at the airport across the river. Why would you want to be
anywhere else? For pictures and registration information please email
