Rebuilding an Aeolian Model XW Orchestrelle
By Eliyahu Shahar

Hi again all, I'm just starting to work on my greatest project:
my model XW solo Orchestrelle. From what I understand, there aren't
very many of this model anywhere. I know of my own, and one in
England. Apparently there are three or four more somewhere in the
USA and that's all.

If anyone knows of the whereabouts of one of these machines I would
greatly appreciate being put in touch with the owner. I need to know
how some of the parts are put together; for example, where does the
tremolo bar sit, how is the Aeolian harp stop actuated, what does the
low bass (pedal) stop reverberating chamber look like, and how is the
swell shutter built.

I have most of the parts, but my swell shutter box is incomplete and
controls how I connect the tremolo, and I'm missing the linkage for the
Aeolian harp, etc. If anyone can help me here, I'd greatly appreciate
it. I bought the instrument in a 90% restored condition (and extremely
well done, too, I may add) so I will quickly get to the stage of needing
this information when I start this project, hopefully next month.

Thanks for your help,
Best regards,
Eliyahu Shahar
